Mrs. Shelby Joe Cox Wheeler, 65, of Porterdale, widow of the late Jack Wheeler, died Wednesday, December 20, 2024, at Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington.

Born September 21, 1958, in Newnan, she was a daughter of Rachel Joe Bennett Cox, and the late Thomas Edward Cox. Shelby loved her family and was deeply affected by the loss of her husband and father. She loved animals, especially dogs and birds, and she enjoyed collecting angels.

Survivors include her mom, Rachel Cox (Clyde Duck); brothers, Larry Cox, and Anthony Cox (Melissa); niece, Emma Cox; and numerous cousins and other family members.

A private funeral service will be held at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Gary Duck officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
