Obituary

Mrs. Sara Frances Tillery, 82, of Sharpsburg, widow of the late William I. Tillery, died Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Monarch House.

Our mom was the sweetest, most caring, and loving mother. She was deeply loved by everyone. She was also a daughter. Her parents were Ralph Haynes Sr. And Frances Willis Haynes. They raised mom and her sister, Sandy and two brothers Ralph Jr and Bud (James) in a Christian home and instilled strong family values in their lives. They were a very close and loving family. Our mom graduated from East Coweta High School in 1958 and went to business college after that. She married our dad on December 7, 1961. They had their first of 4 children in August 1962, Cindy. Their only daughter. In August 1963, their first son, Tony was born. Our dad was in the Navy and went out to sea a lot and mom raised her first two children alone. She always told everyone that she had one in her arms and one by the hand everywhere she went. When our dad went to Vietnam, she stayed with her mother for a while. Then in March 1967, they had their second son,  David. Our family traveled with the Navy, until our dad retired in 1975. Shortly after that, in 1978, mom and dad moved the family back to Newnan and lived on property her father gave her. Both of her brothers lived close by too. It was a family community. Cindy and Tony attended East Coweta High School and David graduated from Newnan Christian School. In 1980, mom had her fourth son Michael. In 1983, Cindy joined the Army. David built a house next door. Tony got married and Michael went to Heritage Christin School. Michael had high regards for our mom. He always said if Jesus were walking the earth today, He could have married mom.

All of us got married and have children of our own. These are her grandchildren: Cindy has one son, Thomas. Tony has two daughters, Sara, and Casey. David has three children, Justin, Zack, and Amber. Michael has two children. Gabriel and Isaac. Giving her a total of 8 grandchildren. Some of her grandchildren have married and have children of their own giving her great grandchildren. Sara has two children, Matthew, and Alex. Zack has one child River. Amber has two children, Brantley, and Gracelynn. Giving her a total of 5 great grandchildren.
