Rudolph (Rudy) Jagdharry of Sharpsburg, Georgia passed away peacefully at his home January 25, 2024 with his family by his side.
Rudy was born December 11, 1957 in Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, Berbice, Guyana, South America to Etwaroo (Cecil) and Rajkallie (Mavis) Jagdharry. Rudy left Guyana to attend Indiana Wesleyan University (Marion College) in January 1975. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he met Robin McGill who would become the love of his life.
Rudy and Robin were married November 28, 1981 and were married for 42 years They have 3 children: Kristen Leonowicz of Senoia, GA, Stephen Jagdharry of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jonathan Jagdharry of Fayetteville, GA. Rudy loved playing with children and they loved him, especially his 5 grandchildren: Karina and Tyler Leonowicz, Emma, Madeleine and Elliana Jagdharry. Rudy became a proud naturalized citizen of the United States of America May 1, 1987.
Rudy was preceded in death by both of his parents and 3 infant brothers. Rudy was the second of 11 children: Lalita (Matthew) Toeniskoetter, of Scott City, MO, Eunice (Samuel) Shamsundar of Brooklyn, NY, Solomon (Debbie) Jagdharry of Jamaica Queens, NY, Joshua (Debbie) Jagdharry of Toronto, Canada, Mayleen Jagdharry of Brooklyn, NY, Sucil (Marie) Jagdharry of O'Fallon, MO, and Mavis (Romain) Etwaroo of Maryland Heights, MO. Rudy was a proud uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
After graduating from college, Rudy began his career in toxicology in St. Louis, MO at SmithKline Clinical Laboratories in 1981 and remained in toxicology through many mergers and corporate buyouts. These corporate changes saw him moving from St. Louis, MO to Chicago, IL to a brief stay in Atlanta, GA before moving on to Lenexa, KS and back to Atlanta! He ended his career with Quest Diagnostics in Atlanta, GA in 2017.
Rudy loved the Lord with his whole heart and couldn't wait to be in the Lord's house each week where he loved singing praises with his choir family. Rudy was always eager to share about the love of his Jesus with everyone he met.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Hillcrest Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home on Saturday morning.
