Ms. Rubye Elaine Crawford, age 83, of Palmetto, passed away on August 18, 2026. Elaine was born on June 8, 1943, in Fairburn, Georgia, to the late Arch Elmo Crawford and Georgia Christine Tenney Crawford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Florence King; brother, Darrell Crawford; and nephew, Joel Crawford.

Elaine spent most of her career working for the Fulton County School System. While she was dedicated to her work, her greatest joy came from caring for and loving her family. Elaine had a kind and giving heart and was always willing to care for those she loved. She lived with her sister, Florence, for many years and lovingly cared for her during her final days. Her devotion to her family was a true reflection of the person she was, and she will be deeply missed by her siblings, nieces, nephews, and all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her brothers, Perry Crawford (Ellen) and Larry Crawford (Becky); her adoring nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home in Newnan, with Pastor Chris Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Sunday at Hillcrest Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
