Ron DeMartini, a steadfast man of faith, devoted father, grandfather and cherished friend, peacefully passed on November 25, 2024, at the age of 71 after years of battling illness. He was a man of many talents and passions, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on July 20,1953 in San Francisco, California, to the late Frank and Alice DeMartini, Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Enterprise and was stationed at Miramar, San Diego, California. After his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career in aviation that concluded at Lockheed Martin Aviation, where he worked as a planner/engineer for nearly 20 years. Ron was passionate about his work, and he was always looking for ways to improve the products that he helped to design and build. His colleagues remember him as a brilliant engineer, a skilled problem-solver, and a mentor to many.
Ron's passion for classic cars was well-known. He owned several classic cars, including a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner and a 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda AAR. He was a member of the local car club, and he enjoyed attending car shows and participating in car cruise-ins. He reveled in meticulously restoring vintage vehicles, and sharing his wealth of knowledge with fellow enthusiasts. Ron was also a skilled mechanic, and he could often be found working on his cars in his garage.
Ron was a loving and devoted father to his children and grandchildren. He was always there to support and encourage them, and to cheer them on in their many endeavors. Ron was a man of strong faith, and he was a faithful member of Community Bible Church in Senoia. Ron was always willing to help others in need and his unwavering faith in Christ guided his life. He lived with integrity, kindness, and an optimism that inspired those around him. His church community and friendships were an integral part of his life.
Ron is survived by his three children, Amanda Hager (Greg), Adam DeMartini (Krista), and Jennifer Davis; and five grandchildren, Addison DeMartini, Kaelyn DeMartini, Nathan DeMartini, Charlotte Davis, and Ann Malone Hager. He is also survived by a sister, Judy Smith and two brothers, Paul "Skip" DeMartini and Frank DeMartini, many nieces and nephews, as well as his former wife and mother of his children, Susan Sisk.
Ron's death leaves a void in the lives of his family and friends. He was a kind, gentle, and loving man, and he will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on through his family, his friends, and the many people whose lives he touched.
A celebration of Ron's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Brooks Everett officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ron's memory to the Prostate Cancer Foundation or the American Kidney Fund .
