Mr. Robert "Joel" Tharpe, 86, of Palmetto, passed away, Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Brightmoor Nursing Center.

Born January 3, 1936, in Atlanta, he was a son of the late Bertha Snelling Tharpe and the late Boyce E. Tharpe, Sr. Mr. Tharpe was a veteran of the Air National Guard and served as the Executive Vice President of M. E. Hunter and Associates before retiring. He attended Providence Baptist Church where he also served as deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Green Tharpe; and brothers, Boyce E. Tharpe, Jr. and Warren A. Tharpe.

Survivors include his sons, Kenneth Tharpe (Jean), Kevin Tharpe (Missy) and Jeff Tharpe (Gina); grandchildren, Kaleigh, Joel, Colby, Carson, Kyndal and Callie; and great-grandchildren, Jack, Aiden and Raleigh.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Mike Emeott officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Providence Baptist Church 6402 Campbellton-Redwine Road Chattahoochee Hills, GA 30268 in memory of Mr. Tharpe.
