Obituary

Robert Levi Hayes, 70, of Newnan, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at home, surrounded by his family.

Born January 7, 1956, in Tampa, FL, the late Robert Lee Hayes and the late Mary Adaleen Hinson Hayes. Robert made a living as a knowledgeable machinist and welder for many years. He enjoyed playing in pool tournaments in his younger years as well as hunting, fishing and cook outs. Robert cherished his role as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. With unconditional love, his home was always open to family, where he raised 3 of his grandchildren as his own. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Hayes; daughter, Hope Rogers; sisters, Hope Drake, Vivian "Viv" Brown and Ruth Horsley.

Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Hayes (Chris Hood), Sherry Bliss (Chris), and Amber Lambert; sisters, Joyce Chapman and Janet Haynes; grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Jeffrey Jones, Karissa Chinell, Brian Chinell, Sebron Chinell, Cheyenne Ezell, Mary Rogers, and Katie Rogers; 16 great grandchildren (with 3 on the way); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers to serve are Sebron Chinell, Brian Chinell, Jeffrey Jones, Gage Vulgamore, Dustin Sheppard, Chris Bliss, Chris Hood and Brenda Gosdin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the funeral home. The family invites attendees to a diner gathering at Providence Baptist Church at 918 Providence Church Road in Newnan, after the committal service at the cemetery.
