Mr. Robert Lowell Davenport, 87, of Newnan, died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Born September 21, 1933 in Atlanta, he was a son of the late Benjamin Ivey Davenport and the late Garland Bush Davenport. Mr. Davenport was a graduate of Brown High School, Class of 1951, and a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family and friends and took great pride and joy in publishing a newsletter for former high school classmates. Mr. Davenport enjoyed traveling, blackjack and sports, and was an avid Braves and Falcons fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Davenport, and daughters, Donna Davenport and Valerie Davenport.
Survivors include his daughters, Vanessa Adams of Kennesaw, and Debra Davenport of Fairburn; sister, Joyce Shelton of College Park; grandchildren, Lindsay Snyder, Nikki Hopson, Jennifer Hall, Robert Parsons, Brent Combs, Justin Adams, Katelyn McLeod, and Mallory McDaniel; and great-grandchildren, Autumn Jordan, Nicholas Jordan, Annesly Hopson, Parker Troutman, Andrew Hopson, Adam Hopson, Ivy Troutman, Hunter McLeod, Rylee McLeod, and Holden Adams.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Hillcrest Chapel. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn. The family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. The service will be livestreamed at www.hillcrestchapelcares.com and the family requests that all attending follow social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.
