Mr. Rip Wilbur Gold, 75, of Newnan, died Friday, January 22, 2021 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born January 21, 1946 in Atlanta, he was a son of the late Wilbur Glynn Gold, Sr., and the late Geneva Pilgreen Gold.  Mr. Gold was of the Baptist Faith and was the owner and operator of Pilgreen's Restaurant.  Rip continued the operation of this landmark Atlanta restaurant started by his family in 1932.  He was a Civil War buff and enjoyed his family, football, and travelling to Florida.

Survivors include his wife Linda A. Gold; daughter, Glynn Shannon Willis (Tony) of Senoia; grandchildren, Hannah Willis, and Blake Willis; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Tom Allen officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
