Obituary

Richard Paul Boyer, 75, of Fayetteville, died on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

Born on February 8, 1950, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Rick's journey through life was marked by an unwavering faith, a generous spirit, and a warm, welcoming personality. Rick dedicated many years of his life to shaping young minds as a Physical Education teacher at Booth Middle School in Fayetteville. His passion for sports and fitness was only eclipsed by his commitment to his students. He was not just a teacher but a mentor, a role model, and a friend to the countless individuals who had the privilege of being his students. Those who knew Rick would often speak of his generosity. He was the kind of person who gave without expecting anything in return, whose kindness touched the lives of many. Rick never met a stranger; he had the rare ability to make everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. His strong faith was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through life's challenges and joys with grace and humility. As we bid farewell to Richard Paul Boyer, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a journey marked by joy, friendship, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Survivors include his brother, Scott Boyer of Pennsylvania; and his dear friends, Jeanne Benson and Sherry Pate, both of Newnan.
