Mr. Richard Thomas Arrington, 75, of Newnan, widower of the late Joyce Carroll Arrington, died Saturday, February 12, 2022, at his residence.
Born October 5, 1946, in Franklin, he was a son of the late William Thomas Arrington, and the late Ella Kate Shellnut Arrington. Mr. Arrington was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and cooking Brunswick stew and BBQ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Anthony Arrington, and Billy Arrington; daughter, Cathy Carden; and brother, Wayne Arrington.
Survivors include his daughters, Lynn Spradlin (Jeff) of Newnan, and Melissa Arrington (Andy), also of Newnan; sons, Donnie Arrington (Peggy) of Moreland, Noo Arrington (Stephanie) of Heard County, and Austin Arrington of Newnan; brothers, Stanley Arrington of Grantville, and Wade Arrington of Moreland; sister, Peggy Harris of Senoia; grandchildren, Ashley Arrington, Tiffany Gooden (Rico), Megan Ledbetter, Jessica Spradlin, Sammy Daniel, Alexis Robinson, Ansley Robinson, and Dylan O'Neal; great-grandchildren, Elijah Gooden, Deborah Joy Mullins, Bristol Mullins, and Carter Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022, in Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor David Arrington and Pastor Russell Arrington officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
