Rajendra "Raj" Dianand, 43, of Atlanta, died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at his residence in Atlanta.

Born on November 12, 1980, in Boston, MA, Raj grew into a man of many talents and an infectious sense of humor that brightened the lives of all who knew him. Raj dedicated over 11 years of his life to Delta Airlines as a skilled mechanic, where his colleagues not only respected his work ethic but also treasured his camaraderie. A man of diverse interests, Raj found solace in the soulful melodies of jazz and blues, often expressing his own creativity through the notes of his beloved saxophone. His love for music was a constant source of joy and inspiration, resonating through the many facets of his life. He was known to savor the finer things in life, such as a good glass of bourbon and the rich aroma of a Nica Puro cigar. He also enjoyed racing and all things fast, and fishing. Raj's presence was a gift to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His ability to light up a room with laughter, offer a helping hand, and spread love was unparalleled. As we bid farewell to Raj, we celebrate the legacy of a life lived with joy, laughter, and an abundance of love. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his friends, colleagues, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. Raj was preceded in death by his brother, Evan Edward Thomas Mirbel.

Survivors include his mother, Marie MacDonald of Orange, MA; his fiancé, Maria Uribe, and her children, Andres, and Daniel; and many friends and co-workers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 10, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel.
