Patricia Ann
Rogers-Hayes
September 13, 1948 — August 19, 2026
Newnan
Mrs. Patricia Ann Rogers-Hayes, 77, of Newnan, Georgia, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. She was the beloved widow of the late Robert Hayes, Sr., with whom she shared 47 beautiful years of marriage.
Patricia was born on September 13, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Peter Rogers and the late Mary Green Rogers. She was the second oldest of nine children and grew up surrounded by family, love, and the experiences that helped shape the remarkable woman she would become. Patricia was a woman who gave so much of herself to others. She received her education through the New York City Department of Education, earning her high school diploma before going on to obtain her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate. She devoted many years to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Nursing was more than simply a profession for Patricia—it was an expression of the caring heart she carried throughout her life. She treated her patients with compassion, patience, dignity, and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Those who knew Patricia knew that she was so much more than her career. She was full of life, personality, laughter, and an unmistakable spirit. Patricia had a carefree way about her and possessed the beautiful ability to find happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved to read, becoming lost in the pages of stories that carried her to new places and adventures. She enjoyed shopping and the excitement of finding something special. She knew how to enjoy life, and she encouraged those around her to do the same. Patricia embraced each day with optimism. She had a way of bringing her own light into a room, and her presence could make ordinary moments feel special. She loved her family deeply, and the memories she created with them will remain treasures for generations to come. For 47 years, Patricia shared a remarkable journey with her beloved husband, Robert. Their marriage was a testament to love, companionship, commitment, and the beauty of walking through life together. Though Robert preceded her in death, the love they shared remains an enduring part of Patricia's story.
Patricia leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish the memories of her life. She is survived by her sons, Andre P. Hayes and Christopher R. Hayes; stepchildren, Robert Hayes Jr., Caprice Upshaw, and Anthony Hayes; siblings, Linda Green, Paul Rashid, Shirley Brown, Teresa Tawwab, Patrick Rodgers, Michael Rodgers, Alonzo West, and Toni West; grandchildren, Caprice Hayes, Destiny Hayes, Brooke Hayes, Myles Young, Isaiah McInnis, and Donte Gilleylen; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
To know Patricia was to experience a woman who lived life in her own beautiful way. She loved deeply, cared genuinely, laughed freely, and embraced the world with an open heart. Her life touched many, whether through the care she provided as a nurse, the love she gave her family, the friendships she treasured, or simply the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Although her earthly journey has come to an end, Patricia's story does not end here. She lives on in the memories of her children and grandchildren, in the love shared among her siblings and extended family, in the lessons she taught through the way she lived, and in every heart that was touched by her presence. Her family will miss her voice, her laughter, her personality, and the little things that made her uniquely Patricia. They will miss having her here, but they will forever be grateful for the years they were blessed to love her. Rest peacefully, Patricia. Your work here is finished. May you be reunited with the love of your life, Robert, and may the love you gave so freely continue to surround your family until you meet again. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
