Patricia
Bernard
November 21, 1950 – November 23, 2024
It is with great sadness and heartache that we share Patricia T. Bernard, of Newnan, GA, known affectionately as Pat, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the age of 74 after a short, but harrowing battle with cancer. She was born on November 21, 1950, in Methuen, Massachusetts, to Rita Marie McKay (Casgrain) and Vincent James McKay.
Patricia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard L. Bernard (Dick), and is survived by their five children: Britini Shields and her husband Derrick of Sharpsburg, GA, Charlene Brenner and her husband Karl of Holden, MA, James Dexter and his wife Amy of Louisville, CO, Richard Bernard and his wife Cherie of Salem, NH, and Christine Dexter of NH. She was also the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren: Cohen, Casey, Jamie, Hayden, Devyn, Tyler, Kayla, Haylee, Brandon, Nicholas, and Giana, and the great-grandmother of three: Vivian, Emma, and Kevin.
She is also survived by her sisters Georgette Smith and her husband Phillip of NH, Carol Haley of GA, and Kathy Sullivan of FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Patricia had a long and successful career as a realtor in New Hampshire. She was highly regarded for her work in real estate and was particularly known for her ability to remodel, decorate, and flip homes. She and her late husband Dick made a dynamic team, bringing their vision and skills to each project. Pat and Dick dreamed of owning an Inn and together gave The Lord Hampshire in Winnisquam, NH new life. Pat continued her decorative talents to remodel rooms to create inviting spaces people wanted to return to again and again. After Dick's passing, Pat continued her passion for home design alongside her sister Georgette, creating inviting, beautifully decorated spaces wherever they went.
In addition to her career, Pat was known for her warm hospitality. Throughout her life, she loved hosting friends and family, especially during holidays and special occasions. Her home was always filled with delicious food and laughter, and she took great joy in preparing meals and trying new recipes. In her later years, Pat enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, including Family Feud, Judge Judy, and the Hallmark and Lifetime channels, even though she would determine the endings on her own!
Pat's infectious laughter, kindness, and generosity of spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, warmth, and dedication to family and friends will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She will be laid to rest with her cherished husband Dick in NH, at a private service in her honor, in the Spring. The family requests that donations in Patricia's memory be made to St. Jude as she supported them regularly.
