Parker Bethel Anderson, 31, of Newnan, known affectionately as Parker to his friends and family, died June 29, 2024.
Born January 17, 1993, in Newnan, Georgia, his 31 years on this earth were marked by an unwavering commitment to living life to the fullest and making a positive impact on everyone he met. Parker's dedication to his country was evident through his honorable service in the United States Navy. As a member of the elite community aboard nuclear submarines and as a navy diver, he achieved the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. Parker's exceptional service was recognized with numerous awards and commendations, including the Navy Fish, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. His bravery and commitment to excellence were an inspiration to his fellow sailors and a source of pride for all who knew him. Parker's zest for life shone brightly through his love of the outdoors. He recently completed an epic 8-month journey across the United States, exploring the majesty of numerous National Parks. Parker's spirit was like a beacon of light, illuminating the lives of those around him with his carefree, fun-loving nature. He was a beautiful soul who approached every day with a sense of wonder and joy. He had a passion for remote-controlled cars that brought a playful and creative outlet to his life. Parker's story is one of a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a heart given freely to the world. Parker, your spirit sails on, guiding us toward our own uncharted waters with the same bravery and joy you showed us every day.
Survivors include his parents, Tami and Bo Edwards; sister, Danielle Anderson; grandparents, Patsy "Momma Pat" Edwards, and John and Jan Beall; aunts and uncles, Linda and Scott Hubbard, Debbi and Charles Smith, and Jacque Walther; numerous cousins, and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held together for both Parker Anderson and Joshua Wimmer at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at SouthCrest Church, 365 International Park, Newnan, GA 30265.
