Norma Jean "Jeanie"
Moore
September 8, 1965 – April 23, 2026
Norma Jean “Jeanie” Moore, 60, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Carrollton.
Born on September 8, 1965, in Gainesville, Florida, Jeanie was the daughter of the late David Lee Cain and Hazel Leggett.
Jeanie was a strong-willed, outspoken woman who lived life exactly the way she wanted to. She had a bold personality and a sharp sense of humor that people didn’t always expect—but once they got to know her, it was something they never forgot. She had a way of speaking her mind, making people laugh, and leaving a lasting impression everywhere she went.
For over 20 years, Jeanie worked as a dispatcher with Vital Care Ambulance Service. She helped coordinate care during critical moments, but more than that, she built real connections with the people around her. Her bold personality, sense of humor, and unforgettable one-liners made her someone coworkers will always remember.
Outside of work, Jeanie found joy in the things she loved most. She especially loved her convertible—nothing made her happier than riding with the top down, her hair blowing in the wind. She also enjoyed gardening, spending time caring for her plants, and getting lost in a good book.
Jeanie lived unapologetically and left her mark on everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her strength, her humor, and the way she made people feel once they truly knew her.
She is survived by her husband, William Moore; her children, Tanya Davis (Wade), Stephanie Abernathy (Daniel), and Nikki Peppers (Jonathan); her sister, Donna Lewis; her grandchildren, Breanna, Skyler, Kadin, Abigail, Bryson, Sabrina, Ruby, Jake, Ayden, Lilly, and Merry; and her great-grandchildren, Langston, Linkin, Lyndon, and Haven.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
