Nancy Staples Smoak, 68, of Newnan, passed away peacefully to be with her Savior, on Friday, December 14, 2023, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born April 6, 1955, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Jess Vernon Staton and the late Virginia Eggleston Staton. Nancy's professional journey as a Comptroller in the construction industry spanned many years, where her keen eye for detail and steadfast work ethic were greatly valued. A former longtime member of Grace Baptist Church, Nancy's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Her involvement in church activities reflected her commitment to her faith and her community. Family was the heart of Nancy's world. She relished hosting holiday celebrations and other family gatherings, creating memories that her loved ones will cherish forever. Her home was a hub of laughter, love, and the delicious aromas of home-cooked meals. Nancy's thoughtful nature shone through in the letters she wrote, a practice she maintained diligently, ensuring that friends and family felt connected and valued, no matter the distance. Music was one of Nancy's greatest joys, and she enjoyed singing with her sisters whenever the opportunity arose. Their harmonious melodies were a source of comfort and happiness not only to them but to all who had the pleasure of listening.

Survivors include her sons, Chad Staples (Cori), Mark Staples (Erin), and Sean Staples; brothers, Jess Staton, and Steve Staton; sisters, Lydia Morris, Becky Mundy, and Beth Smith; grandchildren, Emily, Katelyn, Samantha, Anna, and Isaac; Burbage Smoak, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Foundation Christian Church with Pastor Clint Nolder officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church, on Saturday, 30 minutes prior to the service.
