Mrs. Nancy Alice Downs Chandler, 90, of Greenville, SC, formerly of Atlanta, widow of the late Edward Lewis Chandler, died Saturday, June 19, 2021, at her residence.

Born October 28, 1930, in Honolulu, Hawaii, she was a daughter of the late Charles McCabe Downs and the late Alice Rosalind Reed.  Mrs. Chandler was a member of St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church and was a gifted musician and vocalist, serving as lead soprano in the Church choir.  She was a visual artist who loved to paint, especially watercolor.  She enjoyed family history and genealogy and spent many hours researching her family history.

Survivors include her daughters, Ellane Alice Chandler of Asheville, NC, and Patricia Kay Chandler of Greenville, SC.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021, in Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating.  Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
