Mrs. Mary "Joyce" Smith, 84, of Franklin, died Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at her residence.

Born December 15, 1937, in Sharpsburg, she was a daughter of the late Rufus Wilson and the late Mildred Ernest. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Joyce loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Smith; son, Merrill Smith; 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Johnson (Tim) of Franklin; Pam Pattillo (Rusty) of Williamson; Vickie Calhoun (Terry) of Newnan; stepdaughter, Twila Goddard (Winfred) of Foley, AL, stepsons, James Smith (Wanda) of Williamson, and Albert Smith of Griffin; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
