Mrs. Mary Jane Heavner, 85, of Sharpsburg, formerly of Cumberland, Maryland, widow of the late Roger "Skeeter" Heavner, died Thursday, August 28, 2025, at The Claiborne at Newnan Lakes.

Born July 29, 1940, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Dorothy (Wilson) Hast. Mary Jane was a graduate of Alleghany High School. She had worked at First United Bank, having been a teller. Mary Jane had belonged to St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She, along with her husband, Roger, were involved in many of the activities at Ali Ghan Shrine Club. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Hast; and a brother, George Hast.

Survivors include her two sons, Darren Heavner and wife Maureen, and Donald Heavner and wife Michele; two brothers, Richard Hast and James Hast; four grandsons, Bradley, Connor, Alexander, and Nicholas.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 11 AM until noon. The funeral service will follow at noon, with Rev. Lee A. Brotemarkle, officiating. Inurnment will be in Maryland State Veteran's Cemetery Rocky Gap, in Flintstone, Maryland.
