Mary Jane Harris, age 93 went to be with her beloved husband of 58 years, Walter W. Harris, on May 4, 2021.

Mary Jane was born in Williamsport, PA to Ward and Rosina Henderson.  She lived in Rochester, NY; Chester, SC; and Newnan, GA.   Mary Jane was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.  Mary Jane was known by many as "MJ" and brought laughter to others with her dry sense of humor.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren or talking on the phone with those located further away.   Whenever saying good-bye to her family, she always said: "A bushel and a peck, hug around the neck" and she expected you to respond with "Right back at you".  In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by Teresa and Otis King (daughter and son-in-law); Tammy Ward (daughter-in-law); William Bower (brother-in-law); six grandchildren and two nephews.

Survivors include her children W. Joseph Harris; Ward (Victoria) Harris; Kathleen (Karl) Pfauth; Jacqueline (David) Carstairs.   Siblings Joan Bower and Donald (Doris) Henderson of Williamsport, PA as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 110 West End Street, Chester, SC 29706
