Mrs. Mary Alice Knott, 81, of Newnan, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born August 9, 1939, in Chattanooga, TN, she was a daughter of the late Carl Cecil Gass and the late Virginia Hunter Gass.  Mrs. Knott was of the Christian Faith and was retired from Atlanta Wire Works.  She loved to paint and spend time with her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, and a son, Tommy Knott.

Survivors include her son, Jeff Knott (Anne) of Newnan; daughter, Sherry North (Larry) of Jonesboro; daughter-in-law, Lynn Knott of Tyrone; grandchildren, Allison North, Alan Knott, and Andy Knott; and several nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Moreland United Methodist Church.
