Mrs. Mable Ann Smith Sharp, age 71, passed away on April 8, 2026. Mable was born on September 9, 1954, in Lafayette, Alabama to the late Maple Smith and Mary Catherine Strong Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Edward Sharp, and brother in-law Rick Spaulding.
Survivors include her daughters, Melissa Ann Peck (Todd), and Amber Marie Sharp; grandchildren, Harper Annmarie Powell, Harrison Charles Powell, and Cannon Gayle Peck; siblings, Bobby Joe Smith (Faith), Marvin Ray Smith (Denise), James Leo Smith (Barbara), and Brenda Gayle Spaulding; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mable was a daughter, sister, friend, mother, grandmother, and a State Farm agent. She held each one of these titles with utmost respect. Mable was an example of what it means to love and give without expecting anything in return. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she will be remembered for the joy and magic she brought to everyone around her. She also enjoyed sharing that magic with her family at Disney World. Amongst this, Mable loved her insurance career, and the support she was able to give others. For the past sixteen years she lived out her dream of being a State Farm Agent. During this time, she was able to give back to the community she grew up in by supporting Kiwanis, high school extracurricular activities, amongst many other organizations. Mable left a lasting impression everywhere she went, and her memory will live on forever.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 9th at the Higgins Hillcrest Chapel, 1 Bullsboro Drive, Newnan, Georgia, 30263 beginning at 1:00 pm. The memorial service will follow shortly after at 2:00 pm. A reception in her honor will be at 4700 Commonwealth Circle, Newnan, Georgia, 30263 after the service. Inurnment will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Monday, May 11th at 2:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
