Bozeman
April 20, 1935 – October 28, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Mabel Bozeman, 88, announce her passing on Saturday, October 28, 2023, in Newnan. She was born on April 20, 1935, in Newnan to the late Roy Evans Pitts and the late Winnie Braswell Pitts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Bozeman; siblings, Frank, Johnny, Sarah (Hammett), Howard, Roy Paul, Charles Pitts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mabel graduated from Newnan High School in 1954. She married her sweetheart Buddy Bozeman in 1955 and moved to Chamblee, Georgia. While there, she obtained draftsman certifications from DeKalb Technical College. This career choice placed her in a man's world, where she faced and overcame discrimination with grace and resilience along the way. After working for General Electric and Western Electric, she landed a job at Hayes Microcomputer Products where she was a beloved and valued employee. After retirement, she and Buddy moved to Locust Grove until his death. She then returned to live in her hometown of Newnan, where she was an active member of the Heatherwood Baptist Church, serving as the secretary for her bible study group. The last year and half of her life she lived in Wesley Woods Senior Living.
Survivors include her son, Marty (Rebecca) Bozeman; and grandson, Mike Bozeman.
Funeral services will be held at the graveside, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, in Holly Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Tim Hammett officiating.
