Lila Ann Thompson, 97, of Newnan, widow of the late William Thad Thompson, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Benton House of Newnan.

Born on February 25, 1928, in Ormond Beach, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Garnett England and the late Sadie Hargrove England. Lila, alongside her late husband, was the proud co-owner and operator of Supersonic Car Wash in Forest Park. Their dedication to the business was only matched by their commitment to each other and the life they built together. After many successful years, they moved to Newnan in 1992. A member of Harvest Baptist Church, Lila's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Lila's kindness and loving nature was a beacon of light that drew people to her. Lila enjoyed gardening, and she found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. Her cooking was another avenue through which she expressed her love for those around her. Family gatherings were graced with her delicious meals, each dish prepared with love and savored by all who were lucky enough to sit at her table. Lila's life was characterized by the love she had for her family. She was a pillar of strength, always there to offer support, advice, or a listening ear. Lila's passing is a profound loss, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gena Ann Thompson, great grandson, William Thad Thompson, and a great-great-granddaughter, Alina Wigglesworth.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ron Thompson (Christine), Daryl Thompson (Jan), and Jeff Thompson (Dorothy); grandchildren, Christy Bertin (Ben), Brett Thompson (Joanna), Daryn Thompson, Ginny Chappell (Terry), Scott Thompson (Rachel), Eric Thompson (Sara), Josh Thompson (Chelsea), Heath Thompson (Aruna), Heather Thompson, and Lauren Glass (Brad); great-grandchildren, Maggie Day Thompson, Deacon Thompson, Campbell Thompson, Tyler Claire Thompson, Landon Thompson, Mason Thompson, Lila Thompson, Finn Thompson, Easton Thompson, Brighton Thompson, Asher Thompson, Charlotte Thompson, Piper Thompson, River Thompson, Anderson Glass, Destiny Wigglesworth (Wyatt), and Alyse Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Lee Ayers officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, one hour prior to the service.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Lila's grandsons, Daryn Thompson, Brett Thompson, Scott Thompson, Eric Thompson, Josh Thomson, and Heath Thompson.
