Mr. Lewis Edward Pitts, 87, of Sharpsburg, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Southland Nursing & Rehabilitation in Peachtree City.
Born July 24, 1937, in Coweta County, he was a son of the late Samuel Irvin Pitts and the late Irene Harmon Pitts. Lewis was well known in the Sharpsburg area, together with his son, he operated the Standard Service Station for many years. During this time, he also worked for Atlanta Wire Works in Jonesboro where he retired after 30 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel E. Pitts, a daughter Debra, and sisters, Christine Hannah, and Maydell Jacobs.
Survivors include his children, Cricket Pitts (Phyllis), Darlene Crunkleton (Tony), and Leisa Waddell (Rick); seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
