Larry James Williams, Sr., 72, of Newnan, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Larry was born on November 29, 1952, in Senoia, to the late Annie Frances Bishop and the late Monroe David Williams. He retired from the road department with the Coweta County Prison System. He was an active member and deacon of Providence Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing in church, riding his tractor, and was an avid deer hunter. He was a family man who loved and cherished his wife, children and grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his, sister, Patsy Bryan; brothers, Joseph Williams, Jimmy Williams, Robert "Peanut" Williams and Ricky Bishop.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Williams; daughters, Elizabeth Williams, and Jeanette Williams (Jerry); son, Larry Williams, Jr. (Cheree); grandchildren, Alex Williams (Ashley), Shelby Courson (Jacob), Brianna Stevens (Hunter), Jessica Bolling, Cierra Williams, and Amber Mosley (Matt); great grandchildren, Cade Courson, Addison Courson, Noah Bolling, and Blakley Stevens; sister, Diane Thompson (Donnie); brothers, Jerry "Chop" Williams, Billy Williams (Cindy) and Bobby Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Norton officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the funeral home.
