Kenneth Lee
"Kenny" Smith
April 9, 1963 – March 4, 2026
Kenneth Lee "Kenny" Smith, 62, of Newnan, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 9, 1963, in Newnan, to the late J. Lee Smith and the late Letha Morgan Smith. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Billy Adams.
Kenny's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, love for his family, and dedication to his community. For many years, Kenny was a dependable truck driver for Chambers Drum, where his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor were well-known and appreciated. His colleagues respected him for his professionalism and his ability to always lend a helping hand.
Kenny's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he found great joy and solace in his worship and fellowship. He also served as a lay preacher there since 2016. God was always the guiding force in his life, and he instilled this faith in his family and those around him.
His interests were as rich and varied as his character. Kenny was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding peace and contentment in the great outdoors. He had a particular passion for lighthouses, which he saw as beacons of hope and guidance, much like his own role in the lives of those he loved. Kenny was also a dedicated fan of Tennessee Volunteer football, sharing his enthusiasm and team spirit with all who knew him.
Kenny's love for photography, especially taking pictures of birds, was more than a hobby; it was a way for him to capture the beauty of God's creation. His road trips with his family were legendary, filled with laughter, stories, and the joy of exploration. The annual journey to North Georgia to witness the splendor of the autumn leaves changing color was a cherished tradition.
An avid collector of guns, Kenny respected the craftsmanship and history behind each piece in his collection. This interest was another facet of his multifaceted personality, reflecting his appreciation for heritage and personal freedom.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Tina Smith; son, Daniel Lee Smith, (Kristina); grandchildren, Alex Lilienthal, Anthony Barcenas, Kasandra Barnes (Ian), Karissa Barcenas, and Aaron Lee Smith; brother Tommy L. Smith; and numerous extended family and friends.
