Mrs. Katherine Katie Phillips, 93, of Newnan, widow of the late Lester Phillips, died Friday, March 5, 2021 at Newnan Health and Rehabilitation.

Born April 25, 1927 in Carrollton, she was a daughter of the late Clifford Smith and the late Hattie Mae Drake Smith.  Mrs. Phillips was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Bonnell.  She enjoyed working with the flowers in her yard and cutting the grass, and she loved cats.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Jessie Clifford "JC" Cofield, and James Edward Cofield, and her sisters, Dolly Mae Floyd, Dorothy Rae McClendon, and Martha Jean Rainey.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Acree (Samuel) of Newnan; grandchildren, Amanda Acree, Thomas Cofield, and Tracy Cofield; and numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021, at the graveside, in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel.
