Justin "Dan"
Daniel Viszlay
September 1, 1962 – December 28, 2024
Mr. Justin Daniel "Dan" Viszlay, 62, of Newnan, died on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from injuries sustained in a house fire.
Born September 1, 1962, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, he was the second son of John David Viszlay and the late Jacqueline Ann Jones. After graduating from Raytown South High School and completing an associate's degree in accounting, he decided to take a path that didn't include an office view, but instead one of the Great Outdoors. Dan worked in the field of road construction for most of his career. He loved being outside and it was the perfect fit to utilize his mathematical skills along with seeing the country. His love for dogs kept him with a constant companion as he traveled. Dan lived most his adult life exploring the western United States and traveling the world. He often went to Europe and loved a nice tropical island from time to time. Dan moved to Georgia to be closer to family in 2021. His family held a special place in his heart and drew closer to his nephews especially. He was a quiet man but had a great passion for God and his country. You couldn't have a conversation with Dan without knowing he had a passion for sports and football, most extensively with the Kansas City Chiefs! Growing up in Kansas City Missouri, he caught "the fever" and was the biggest fan they had. Dan also enjoyed collecting and shooting guns. His collection included everything from antiques to semi-automatic rifles and handguns. His membership to the American Riffle association was one he was proud of. He believed every American should have the right to protect themselves and their property.
Survivors include his father, John David Viszlay; siblings, John Viszlay, Julia Davin (Theo Scott), David Viszlay (Heather), and Daniell Walker (Kirby); and nieces and nephews, Abigail, Andrew, Anthony, Joshua, Daniel, Kenneth, Eli, Graham, Gabriel, and Delaney.
The family will hold a private service.
