Obituary

Joseph Clinton "Joe" Thompson, 63, of Newnan, died Friday, June 25, 2021, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born October 19, 1957, in Newnan, he was a son of Loy Thompson, Sr., and the late Joyce Lewis Thompson.  Joe was a member of Mills Chapel Baptist Church.  He loved baseball and enjoyed coaching his son's little league teams.  He also enjoyed playing softball and pool and loved music and singing.

In addition to his father, survivors include his wife of nearly 41 years, Cindy McCullough Thompson; son, Joshua Clinton Thompson (Laura) of Newnan; daughter, Brittany Thompson Houston (Mike), also of Newnan; brothers, Loy Thompson, Jr. (Leslie), Roy Allen "Bubba" Thompson, and Wesley Thompson (Sandi), all of Newnan; grandchildren, Layken Corey Thompson, Henleigh Morgan Thompson, and Chancey Asher Houston; his beloved dog, Oscar; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, in Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Jeff Smith, Pastor Danny Wilson, and Pastor James Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
