Jon "Gary" Ivester, 84, of Hogansville, passed away, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at his residence.

Born January 12, 1939, in Atlanta, he was a son of the late Guy Ivester and the late Nobie Copeland Ivester. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and a building contractor in Fayette and Coweta counties for many years. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sherry Ivester; children, Mark Ivester (Traci), Stephanie Anderson, Felicia Meyers (Jeff), Laurie Brown (Rusty) and Christy Ponder (Kelly), Tommy Dunn; and grandchildren, Audrey, Anna, Angela, Scarlett, Noah, Nobie, James, Adrienne, Jordon, Augusta, Kayla, Lisa, Brittany, Rachel, Trenton, Rustyn and Kynslee.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
