John Frank Papp, 55, of Sharpsburg, died January 25, 2021 at Newnan Piedmont Hospital.
Born October 8, 1965, in Germany, son of the late Miklos Papp and the late Anita Papp. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Julianna Papp; grandson, Jaylen Miller; and brother, Michael Papp.
John worked for UPS as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp Squadron VMFP-3 and a member of the Clyde Thomason Medal of Honor Detachment 1325 Marine Corp League. John who referred to himself as a "John of All Trades", was many other things most importantly a great father to his daughters and the best "Opa" to his grandkids. He was also very proud of his German-Hungarian heritage and enjoyed German food. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish; and he also loved football, baseball, and skiing. He was a great softball coach, a huge Clemson Tiger fan, a wonderful cook, and a gun enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Evelyn Papp; daughters, Nikkita Papp and Jacqueline Ross (Chris); grandchildren, Millie Ross, Kylie Meredith, Malachi Ross, and Katherine McDearmid; brother, George Papp; niece, Samantha Perry; and nephews, Thomas Papp, Michael Papp, and Zachary Papp.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Hillcrest Chapel with Rev. Albert Phelps Sr. officiating. Friends may visit the family from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the funeral home. Out of concern for the safety of friends and family during the current pandemic, the funeral service will be live streamed at www.hillcrestchapelcares.com
