John "Finbar"
Manning
August 24, 1962 – November 21, 2023
John "Finbar" Manning of Newnan, Georgia formerly Farmingdale, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Carrigtwohill, County Cork, Ireland on August 24, 1962. Finbar was the owner of Manning Floors, a company he started and managed for 30 years.
Two years ago, Finbar was diagnosed with lung cancer. After undergoing several rounds of treatments, along with the anxiety, the pain and the hope for a cure, the truth was that his body could no longer carry on. While Finbar endured so much in the last couple of years, he never lost his sense of humor and his poetic way with words.
This isn't how Finbar expected his final chapter to end. He had big dreams after moving from New Jersey to Georgia. He loved his home in Newnan where he was surrounded by beautiful gardens filled with the flowers he planted, hummingbirds buzzing around and deer grazing in the back woods. But most of all, Finbar enjoyed being with Sandy, his wife, his love. Finbar and Sandy always said that they saved each other. He looked forward to growing old surrounded by the family and people he loved most.
While his time on earth may have been shorter than he wanted, it was still a life full of enriching experiences. Finbar loved being on the water and fishing. He loved his trips to Ireland and in particular the seaside village of Ballycotton. Finbar also discovered his creative side and built beautiful birdhouses for everyone he knew.
Finbar's motto in life was "Do Good." He certainly did!
Finbar is survived by his wife, Sandy Manning, and their children, Alex Larsen Griffith (Brady), Victoria Larsen Riordan (Sean), Emily Larsen, Enya Manning, Erin Manning, Barry Manning and Melissa Manning. He also leaves behind Sandy's parents who loved him like a son, Billy and Carolyn Crisp, and three loving sisters Carol Kelly (Brendan), Anne McCarthy (Jimmy), Michelle Nolan (Brian).
Finbar was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Bernadette Manning and three brothers, Liam Manning, Paudie Manning and Gerard Manning.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Hillcrest Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
