John Herbert Leflet, 68, of Newnan, passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
Born April 8, 1958, in Amarillo, Texas, he was a son of the late Richard Lee Leflet and the late Margaret Ann Wickham Leflet. John was a veteran of the United States Army. John will be remembered as someone who was always making and building. He found enjoyment in creating things with his hands and staying busy with projects. He also loved spending time in simple pleasures that brought people together. He enjoyed playing poker and looked forward to Friday nights with his men’s group of friends. Time with family was important to him, and he shared many good moments playing canasta with them. He was equally content in quiet moments, playing solitaire by himself. Those who knew John will remember a man who appreciated companionship, laughter, and the comfort of familiar routines. Whether he was building something, sitting down for a card game, or gathering with friends and family, he brought his own steady presence to those moments.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Rose Antoinette Evans Leflet; daughters, Lindsey Leflet (David Rodriguez) of San Diego, CA, Meredith Leflet, and Emily Leflet, both of New Orleans; son, Devin Ancrum of Newnan; brother, Robert Leflet (Michelle) of Nortonville, KS; sister, Lucille Thomas (John) of Valley Falls, KS; and granddaughters, Dahila Rodriguez and Adelaide Leflet.
A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Hillcrest Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
