JoAnne Lee, 84, of Newnan, widow of the late Lewis M. Lee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at her residence.
Born May 8, 1942, in College Park, she was a daughter of the late William Arthur King and the late Wynell Day King. JoAnne retired from Newnan hospital business department. She was a longtime member of Franklin First Baptist Church, where she was an active member on the baptismal committee and served for years in the kitchen, it was a way for her to show & share her love and faith. It was difficult for her when she had to step back due to her eyesight failing her. Her favorite times were when she was outside tending to her numerous flower beds, rose bushes, and kittens. JoAnne’s favorite pastime was watching the classics, Perry Mason, MASH, Murder She wrote, Andy Griffin, and Matlock. During football season- you knew not to call on Saturday, especially when her favorite team Alabama was playing, she didn’t have time for you when the Tide was rollin! In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Gail Lee, and a great-grandson, Spencer Cashion.
Survivors include her children, Ronnie Lee, and Sandy (Mike) Hynson; grandchildren, Megan (Joe) Kelley, Justin Crockett, Allison (Austin) Yates, Emily Crockett (Tyler Smith), Kasey (Willis) Cashion, Conner (Finley) Hynson, Adrianna Hynson (Austin Massie), Wesley Hynson, Augusta Lee, June Lee, Ryan Lee, and Rachel Lee; great-grandchildren, Maggie & Olivia Kelley, Sawyer, Caleb, & Callie Yates, Adelynn & Bennett Cashion, and Andi Kate Crockett.
