Mr. James Emery Tate, 63, of Newnan, died Monday, June 17, 2024, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born July 5, 1960, in Newnan, he was a son of Patsy Charlotte Hayes Tate and the late James Hugh Tate. Mr. Tate loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and loved watching NASCAR and listening to music.

Survivors include his daughter, Allison Hancock; grandchildren, John Nolan Hancock, and Taryn Alivia Hancock; mother, Patsy C. Tate; sister, Kim Brown (Steve); brother, Gary C. Tate; niece, Kirsten Brown; and nephews, Alex Brown, and Christopher Tate.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel, with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to the service.
