Lampkin
August 28, 1953 – January 11, 2025
James Michael Lampkin, 71, of Sharpsburg, died Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Born on August 28, 1953, in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a son of the late Hoyt Lampkin. James proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His time in the service was marked by a commitment to excellence and a deep sense of patriotism. An avid outdoorsman, James found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. He spent countless hours in the woods, hunting and fishing, embracing the quietude and beauty of the wilderness. His hands were rarely still, as he delighted in the meticulous craft of building model cars, a hobby that highlighted his patience and attention to detail. James's love for the open road was undeniable. There was no greater freedom for him than riding his cherished Harley Davidson, with the wind in his face and the horizon stretching out before him. Those who rode alongside him will forever cherish the memories of their shared journeys.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Joan Lampkin; daughter, Alasha Ann Williams (Bryan); grandson, Walker Lee Williams; and a brother, Freddy Lee Vernon.
