Mr. James Greer "Jim" Frier, 72, of Newnan, died Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born on August 25th, 1949, in Helena, Arkansas, he was a son of the late Miller Ollie Frier and the late Mattie Lee McCord Frier. Jim attended Southside Church in Newnan with his wife Chris. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and ultimately became a professional golfer, who spent much of his time designing and managing golf courses all over the states. Jim was an entrepreneur at heart who would tell you he "knew a little bit about a lot of things". Jim was knowledgeable and always full of stories. He was an amazing athlete and shared his passion with his family. Jim was a golf coach and softball coach to many, including his youngest daughter. When he wasn't playing golf, Jim always enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, playing guitar or piano, and singing Elvis. Jim was an amazing dad, a great husband, a wonderful teacher, and an incredible man.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Christine Frier; son, James Matthew "Matt" Frier (Gloria) of Kennesaw, GA; daughters, Stephanie Frier of Phoenix, AZ, and Ashley Carter (Landon) of Statesboro, GA; brother, Vance Frier of Hogansville, GA; sister, Milla Wood of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren, Zeke James Carter, Stella Jane Carter, and Jaden Jeremiah Masih-Frier; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, in Hillcrest Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.  Due to concerns over Covid-19, the family requests that those attending the services to please wear a mask.
