Mr. James "Robbie" Gilpin, 63, of Newnan, died Monday, March 11, 2024, after an extended stay at Grady Hospital in Atlanta from complications with cancer and recent abdominal stroke.

Born August 30,1960, in Atlanta, he was a son of the late James Eugene Gilpin and the late Lila McCormick Gilpin. Robbie enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved working on cars and riding motorcycles. In addition to his parents, Robbie is preceded in death by siblings, Shirley Anderson, Sue Smith, Louise Smith and Ricky Gilpin, and grandchildren, Destiny and Matthew Mann.

Survivors include his daughters, Christie Gilpin, Janie Gilpin, and Angela Reed Cortes; siblings Matt Gilpin (Tammy), Bruce Gilpin (Connie), and Janie Walker (Chuck); and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
