James Franklin Byrom, 87, of Luthersville, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2024, at his residence.

Born on September 18, 1936, in Haralson, to the late Everett Byrom and the late Chrstine Adcock Byrom. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Jim loved the military, his country and he was a true democrat. He enjoyed gardening and was a perfectionist at everything he did. Above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Mercer Byrom, Janice Cannon, Shirley Hatchett and Betty Jo Lynch.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dorothy Byrom; children, Michael Byrom (Wanda), Robert Byrom (Kim), and Linda Byrom; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Everett Byrom (Brenda), Preston Byrom (Kathleen), Diane Caldwell and Marsha Kay Railey.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the funeral home. A graveside funeral service will be held in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, immediately following the visitation on Thursday afternoon.
