Obituary

Jackson Andrew White, 72, of Newnan, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024, at Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

Born on July 26, 1952, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was a son of the late Arthur Wilson White and the late Lola Mae Boyer White. A long-time member of the Newnan First United Methodist Church, his faith was a cornerstone of his life. Jackson's passion for puzzles and play was evident to anyone who spent time with him. He found solace and delight in word searches and the vibrant hues of his coloring books. A fierce competitor at the game table, Jackson was always ready for a friendly match of Uno or a challenging game of Scrabble, where his mathematical prowess often shone through. Jackson's ability to solve complex problems with ease earned him the affectionate title of "math whiz" among friends and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Allen White, and William Leonard White; a sister, Ruth Ann White Buchanan; and a brother-in-law, Tim Catlett.

Survivors include his brothers, Charles Arthur White (Gail), Jonathan Eben White (Debbie), and Donald Eugene White; sisters, Elizabeth Ida White Catlett, and Leona Mae Buchanan (Joe); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel with Dr. Anthony P. Langley officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
