Helen Marie Waddell, 78, of Newnan, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin.

She was born on September 11, 1947, in Columbus, MS, to the late Willard Shepherd and the late Carrie Helen Shepherd. Helen worked for NCR in shipping/receiving for 35 years. She enjoyed trips to the beach, the mountains and going on cruises. She loved being outdoors, listening to the birds and enjoying God's creations. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved animals, especially her dogs. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tim Waddell and brother, Charles Shepherd. 

Survivors include her husband, Danny Music; son, Terry Griffin; grandchildren, Katherine Griffin, Kristin Griffin and Nicki McKisick; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and sisters, Bertha Bolton and Diane Dial (Wesley). 

A celebration of Helen's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Hillcrest Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
