Gwendol Jane Bowling, 75, of Newnan, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, in Newnan.

Born April 7, 1949, in Corpus Christi, TX, she was a daughter of the late Emil Wood and the late Elva Glynn Herbert Wood. Gwendol was a student of the history of art, an LPN by trade and worked as a substitute teacher. She had many wonderful hobbies, before her health declined. She listened to many different genres of music and was very knowledgeable on the history and trivia of songs and artists. She loved to watch movies and had an extensive movie collection. Her favorite pastime every year was to watch the Oscars and create a meal to go along with the evening festivities. She has traveled the world, studied many languages, and made many friends along the way. Her humor and laughter will be greatly missed, and heaven has definitely received an amazing angel. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, David Earl Bowling.

Survivors include her children, Emily Gihan Paonessa of Greer, SC and Amon Mark Paonessa and his wife, Marissol Paonessa of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Lynnette Eden Edwards and her husband, Bradyn Edwards, Keely Raine Lineback and her long-time partner, Tim Riddle, Pedro Monteiro Nunes, Madison Page Gambill, Isaac Carter Paonessa, Morgan Ann Gambill, Logan Tristan Glenn, Isabelle Grace Paonessa, Dawson Alan Glenn and Benjamin Monteiro Paonessa.

A celebration of Gwendol's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the funeral home.
