It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our beloved Gregory (Greg) Stephen Alexander. Greg passed away on August 19, 2021, at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Greg was born on August 15, 1952, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lee (Etta) Alexander in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Southwest High School in Atlanta, GA. He transferred to Atlanta Area Tech where he graduated in 1970. He was a traveling carpenter and worked on various residential, commercial, and industrial projects across this country.  He married his wife, Annie, on December 3, 1993, and settled in Newnan, GA where they raised their family.

Greg was a US Marine Veteran. He graduated from Paris Island in 1971 and served in Vietnam. He was also a member of The American Legion, Post 0400.

Greg was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mrs. Annie Barber Strong Alexander.  He is survived by children Mrs. Sharon Strong (Major) Warner, Ms. Angela Strong, and Mr. Anthony Strong; Grandchildren Brittney Walker, Antoinette Strong, William Strong, Sharane Warner, Stephanie Strong, Mason Strong, and Andrew McCoy; Great-grandchildren Jaida Lumbus, Marcel Walker, Zayden Strong; Siblings Mrs. Jacqueline (James) Robinson and Mr. Mitchell (Mable) Alexander; nephew Mr. Bernard (Olive) Pettiford; Nieces late the Mrs. Cathy (Michael) Warren, Ms. Monica Alexander, Mrs. Angie (Reggie) Barber and Mrs. Erin (Kenneth) Grays and a host of grand nieces and nephews to cherish his love.

Memorial services for Greg will be on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 12:00pm at 735 Newnan Rd, Newnan GA, 30263. Reception will be held after the services.
