Gary Vedder Tryon, 62, of Newnan, died on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born August 11, 1963, in Amsterdam, New York, he was a son of the late Lewis Henry Tryon and the late Jessie Morey Tryon. Gary was known for his great sense of humor, a gift that naturally brought light and joy to any room he entered. He had an exceptional ability to make people feel comfortable, fostering good conversation and genuine connections. His presence was a reminder of the power of laughter and heartfelt exchange, traits that endeared him to family, friends, and the community of Encounter Life Church Newnan, where he was a devoted member. A true family man, Gary’s proudest accomplishment was being a great father. He cherished the time spent surrounded by those he loved, creating lasting memories through laughter and shared experiences. Gary enjoyed traveling, when he could, but it was always the connection with his loved ones that remained closest to his heart. Gary’s talents extended into the kitchen, where he delighted in cooking and grilling for gatherings. His culinary skills brought people together, filling his home with the aromas of hearty meals cooked with care and love. These moments around the table were reflections of his dedication to nurturing relationships and celebrating life’s simple pleasures. Though Gary is no longer with us, the warmth of his spirit, his infectious humor, and his unwavering love for family and friends remain as enduring legacies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Tryon Davis.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Lisa Tryon; children, Ayla Marie Tryon, and Onor Joshua Tryon; his brother, David Tryon (Julie), and many other relatives and friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Gary’s life at Encounter Life Church Newnan, with the date and time to be announced when available.
