Felton L. "Tunnie" Ford, 85, a beloved veteran, family man, and vibrant community member, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Newnan, Georgia, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on August 8, 1940, in Coweta county, to the late Otis Ford and the late Julie Crawford Ford, Felton's life was marked by his outgoing personality and his genuine love for those around him. Known affectionately as "Tunnie," he was truly the life of every gathering, a people person whose warmth and spirit brought joy to all who knew him. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Diane Ford.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Tunnie served his country during the Vietnam conflict, exemplifying courage and dedication. His service was a pivotal chapter in a life characterized by commitment to family and community.
Outside of his military service, Felton enjoyed a variety of hobbies that reflected his lively nature and passion for life. He found great pleasure in playing horseshoes, shooting pool, and serenading friends and family with karaoke, activities that allowed him to share his infectious enthusiasm and charm.
Family was at the heart of Felton’s world. He cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren, delighting in their company and never missing an opportunity to spoil them with ice cream. His legacy is lovingly carried on by his children, Teresa Gibson, Tina Moreland, James Collier (Melanie), and Eddie Ford; grandchildren, Rebekah Fleming, Skylor Gibson (Camryn), Janice Perry, Alicia Chavez, Montana Collier, Michael Lowe and Elizabeth Wilson ; and his great-grandchildren, Hadleigh Tillman, Bentley Cawthon, Major Cawthon, Felton Gibson, Millie Hand, Damian Perry, Catherine Perry, Adam Chavez, and Alyssa Perry. He is also survived by his brother Herbert Ford (Nadean), as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who will sorely miss his vibrant presence.
