Obituary

Elizabeth Rebecca Bley, 87, of Moreland, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 16, 2026, at her home.

Born on November 11, 1938, in El Paso, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Pastor Juan Arambula and the late Rebecca Zamarippa Arambula. Liz's passion for creativity was evident from a young age, as she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Liz carried this love of creativity throughout her life, often found with crochet hooks in hand, crafting beautiful pieces for her loved ones and her home. A woman of deep faith, Liz cherished her Bible, which was well-worn from years of reading and reflection, and she served as the pianist of her church in California for many years. Her spirituality was a guiding force in her life, providing comfort and strength in times of need and a source of joy and gratitude in moments of celebration. Liz's love for the golden era of cinema was another hallmark of her character. She could often be found reminiscing over old movies, her eyes alight with the magic of the silver screen. Those who knew Liz will remember her as the epitome of creativity and love. Her ability to infuse warmth and care into everything she did was remarkable. Whether through her daily Bible reading, prayer, and thoughtful interpretation of scripture, or her appreciation for the art of film, Liz's spirit was a beacon of inspiration. As we bid farewell to Elizabeth Rebecca Bley, we celebrate a life lived with immense faith, love, and creativity. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the beauty she brought into the world will forever be remembered.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Larry Bley; her daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and Dennis Hocker; and a grandson, Kial Hocker.

The family will hold a private service.
