Edward Leroy Abbott, 94, of Newnan, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Wesley Woods of Newnan.

Born December 18, 1930, in Dayton, OH, to the late Mildred Fuller Abbott and Roy Abbott. He was of the Methodist faith. He earned a bachelor's degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. He went on to attend Ohio State University until he joined the US Army during the Korean conflict. He made a living as a CEO in finance having worked with numerous banks across the southeast. He was also an active member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Abbott; son, Jay Abbott; daughter, Julie Holland (Russ); and grandchildren, Parker Abbott and Katie Abbott.

Funeral services will be private.
