Eddie Leon Brown, 76, of Newnan, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Born on September 7, 1949, in Newnan, to the late Hugh Dorsey Brown, Sr. and the late Retha Maude Crider Brown. Eddie was a proud veteran of the US Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He retired as a mechanic from Newnan Utilities after many years of service, to the company. He enjoyed classic car restoration and competing in stock car racing. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR and the Atlanta Braves. He was also preceded in death after 27 years of marriage to the love of his life, Barbara McCullough Brown; and siblings, W. A. Brown, Stanley Brown, Glovis Lockridge and Nancy Brown.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristy Brown Osborne (Jeff); brother, Hugh M. Dorsey Brown, Jr.; sister-in-law, Linda Brown; his loyal pet, Daisy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the graveside, at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Oak Hill cemetery with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home on Monday.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations are made to Coweta County Quilts of Valor in honor of Eddie's service.
